Quarterbacks:
- I'm still a believer in streaming, and so not one QB is on my pickups list (at least long-term). However, if there are young QBs to stash (ahem, Tua), do so now. We've already seen how quickly guys are adapting to the NFL as rookies, and teams like the Dolphins clearly have good coaching. If and when these guys see the field, they are likely to produce.
Running Backs:
- I still believe in handcuffs, but what happened to Mattison can be a lesson....any given week. We had a lot of surprises in Week 6, but one of the biggest was the pathetic showing of the Vikings especially on the ground. I not only believe in handcuffs, but I also like stashing these guys in elite situations or schemes because, well, injuries happen (and a lot of them so far this year). They are ranked above for your benefit.
As far as long-term pickups, I like the way McKissic is playing right now as the pass catching back in Washington, and he could develop into a late season flex option. The big one though is Perine, and it's not for this season. If Adam Gase is still the coach of the Jets, Perine and every other Jet without crazy volume is useless. However, if you end up getting the starter in the Jets backfield for a new coach next year and it only took you a quick pickup and stash, you're a genius. Act accordingly, thank me later.
Wide Receivers:
- There are so many good young WRs this year that are producing. If you ended up drafting CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, or Tee Higgins, you're laughing to the Dynasty gods. This week, I want to highlight a few other young WRs in good positions to succeed. Brandon Aiyuk got another TD on SNF, and his efficiency is high. However, I believe the 49ers will only continue to grow their passing game with most of their guys healthy now, and you only need to look at the productions of Kittle and Deebo to see that. The 49ers also have a few games yet against the Seahawks that will be great matchups down the stretch to help him along.
Two other non-rookies to mention. Preston Williams has caught TDs in 3 of his last 4 games, and DaVante Parker left the game Sunday with an injury. This guy was great last season before tearing his ACL, and he is starting to look like that guy again in addition to possibly seeing more volume soon. Keelan Cole went off on Sunday for 6 catches and 143 yards. The Jaguars are going to be throwing a ton this year, and Cole has yet to have a game under 5 targets. If this even moderately ticks up, he's a clear FLEX start.
Finally, Allen Lazard was dropped by a lot of owners after his injury, but he is expected back a few weeks from now, and will be a good add due to his trust from Aaron Rodgers. You may want to keep an eye out to stash this guy before he comes back and the markets ticks up. I also don't have Travis Fulgham on the long-term list yet given that I have yet to see what he is going to be when the Eagles have everyone back. Will he fade when we see Jalen Reagor?
Tight Ends:
- Dallas Goedert is eligible to come off of the IR this week right after Zach Ertz went on it. He is a clear add and stash if he's actually available given his opportunity and how well he did earlier this year.
Trey Burton found the end zone a couple times on Sunday and looks to be in a good position with Alie-Cox out. He may be a speculative add in a down TE market as is our old friend Logan Thomas who has a lot of talent and found the end zone as well this weekend. Two players to consider in a tough pickup market this year.
