Quarterbacks:
- I'm still a believer in streaming, and so not one QB is on my pickups list (at least long-term). However, if there are young QBs to stash (ahem, Tua), do so now. We've already seen how quickly guys are adapting to the NFL as rookies, and teams like the Dolphins clearly have good coaching. If and when these guys see the field, they are likely to produce.
Running Backs:
- I really liked the efficiency of touches that Moss got on Sunday despite how poor the Buffalo offense was. Devin Singletary continues to be completely unimpressive, and he is on his way down. That's not to say that I think Moss is valuable for this season. Far from it. I think his great value is as a dynasty speculative add for next season where I think he becomes the sole RB in that backfield on a better than average offense. Scoop him up now before you miss the opportunity because he is possibly going to hang around this area for the second half of the season given the difficult schedule Buffalo has going forward.
The only other add I have is Cam Akers, and this one feels like desperation given how he was my first round pick in dynasty this year. Look, I won't ignore that he has been on the field for a combined four snaps (not carries) in the last two weeks, but you saw what he is capable of when he gets the ball. To me, it looks like he is in the severe doghouse due to something Sean McVay is seeing in practice until further notice, but he has the talent level to be a great player if given opportunities. Thus, his only value is as a long-term wait and see, but this is a dynasty waiver wire column.
Wide Receivers:
- There are so many good young WRs this year that are producing, and I already told you to go get Brandon Aiyuk last week. Yet, here we are, Deebo is hurt again, and might be looking at multiple weeks just as this offense is starting to take off. This week alone, you would expect Aiyuk to have a potentially big game due to playing Seattle as well as the uptick in volume given that I expect Aiyuk to take over a lot of the jet sweep action in Deebo's absence. I'll also mention that someone might drop Shenault due to lack of volume recently as well as his bye week this week. He is another talented player just missing a good QB, and the Jags might be in the running for one of four really good QB prospects in next year's draft. This may be a great buy-low if that happens.
Two other non-rookies to mention. My take on Preston Williams still stands from last week. He is likely to see the bulk of the targets from Tua since we expect DeVante Parker out this week, and his productivity has been trickling up even with Parker there. The other one is
Finally, Allen Lazard was dropped by a lot of owners after his injury, but he is expected back a few weeks from now, and will be a good add due to his trust from Aaron Rodgers. You may want to keep an eye out to stash this guy before he comes back and the markets ticks up. Another one to watch is Jalen Reagor who was just activated from the IR by the Eagles who are missing Desean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Miles Sanders, and Zach Ertz while playing a better upcoming schedule and a currently hot Carson Wentz. Just sayin'.
Tight Ends:
- Dallas Goedert is eligible to come off of the IR this week right after Zach Ertz went on it last week. He is a clear add and stash if he's actually available given his opportunity and how well he did earlier this year.
The market is really slim on effective TEs to pick up, but Trey Burton or Logan Thomas (which I mentioned last week) may be recent producing TEs that may offer short-term benefit. I don't know if either is a great long-term option at the moment.
